Anaerobic training is better known as strength training or more specifically weight training. I know most people think of a pumped up body builder lifting weight with a red head and screaming. After all, there´s a reason why fitness centers are casually called torture chambers. But modern gyms are far away from this cliché.
But although modern gyms offer a wide range of activities and there´s always someone you can ask for advise I prefer to work out at home or outdoors. And this is quite easy because you don´t need weights or a complete exercise machine which fills a room in an average flat if you don´t want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger when he hit his peak or Ralf Möller but just want to feel better and therefore lose some weight.
But why strength training? Nothing burns fat faster than aerobic training. So there´s no sense in strength training when you want to lose weight, you may think.
While aerobic work out is good for burning fat, for your stamina, for your metabolism and for your cardiovascular system, you won´t become good looking without strength training. Strength training builds up muscles which form your body. But it also helps losing weight.
Muscles need energy even if they don´t do anything. So if your muscles are better developed, they will burn more calories even when you rest.
It´s not necessary to work out with heavy weights. It´s also possible to have a good anaerobic work out with nothing more than the own body weight.
Whatever you are going to do, take some minutes before and after your workout for stretching. It´s necessary to warm up and cool down and prevents injuries. And if you haven´t done anything for a long time consult a professional trainer or a doctor.
Sport
You can not lose weight without being physically active! But to workout so that every muscle in your body hurts - even those you don´t know you have - is useless and unsuitable to lose weight and to get in good shape.
Aerobic Workout
Nothing - absolutely nothing - burns calories faster than aerobic exercises. For successfully losing weight it´s not necessary to do the workouts until you are completely exhausted.
